A girl in Black Forest folklore costume rings the farm bell each time the cuckoo calls. This original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock of solid wood casing,with its carved hip roof  and bell tower, is stained in walnut. The clock is lovingly decorated with a balcony, little lattice windows with shutters, and a depicted stone wall of wood.  The housefront has many rich details, including a water wheel, a pine tree, two woodpiles, a milk can and a little basket. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour.  After the cuckoo calls on both the hour and half-hour, one of the two alternating melodies plays, during which the the water wheel turns. The clockface, numbers and clockhands are all made of wood. This clock has a manual night switch off.  The clock comes in an original box with complete instructions.The mechanical clockwork runs for 24 hours. This traditional cuckoo clock design is crafted by the Hönes company in Titisee, a family business deeply rooted in the century-old tradition of the clockmaking industry, and is well known for its high-quality Black Forest craftmanship.
