Three natualistically carved birds are depicted on this cuckoo clock. The cuckoo sits at the top ready to take off. To the right and left of the clock face are two smaller birds, the one on the left holding food in its beak for the young birds below in the nest. The walnut stained wood case is entwined with maple leaves.The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. After the Cuckoo calls on the hour, one of the two alternating melodies plays. While the music plays, the folklore dance figurines on the balcony turn to the music. The clockface, numbers and clockhands are all made of wood. This clock has an automatic night switch off between 9 pm and u 8 am.The mechanical clockwork runs for a whole week. The clock comes in an original box with complete instructions.
